Wayne Rediker

Wallace Dewayne Rediker, departed this life on December 15, 2023. A man of profound love and unwavering dedication, Wayne left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. His role as a cherished father, husband and grandfather defined the essence of his being. Wayne was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the late George Wallace Rediker and Malinda Maxine Hutcherson Griffin, on March 19, 1953. His parents provided the foundation of values and warmth that shaped his character. He worked most of his life as a truck driver and later took on the important role as a school bus driver. During both Church Camp and public-school routes, Wayne transported not just kids, but hearts filled with joy and laughter. His jovial spirit has created cherished memories for generations. At Centerville Church of Christ, Wayne’s devotion extended to his role as a deacon, channeling his faith through compassionate leadership. Wayne’s impact reached the hearts of minds of middle school and high school children throughout his bible classes. Wayne shared lessons of faith, but also the values of kindness, compassion and love that defined his own life. Simultaneously, he helped with security, ensuring the space remained a haven of peace and serenity. He was an avid gardener and was known for his prized tomatoes. He lived to share the abundance of his tomato harvest with friends, and anyone who had the pleasure of crossing his path. They weren’t just vegetables but a token of kindness and symbols of connection. Wayne served as a proud member of the Knights of Pythias at the Sam Davis Lodge No. 158 in Centerville, Tennessee. He exemplified the ideals of brotherhood and community service and held the title of Past Chancellor Commander. His selfless endeavors continued throughout the community and along with his loving wife Janis, together they would foster animals for the Humane Society. His devotion to fostering animals showcased his compassionate heart. Wayne’s commitment to service went beyond the community. As a Vietnam veteran, he served with honor and dedication in the U.S. Air Force defending the principles he held dear. Wayne also served as a member of the VFW, in Centerville. Being a Vietnam Veteran further showcased his allegiance to service and sacrifice. His legacy is not only one of love, strength, and wisdom but also of the profound bonds he shared with his entire family. Those left to cherish Wayne’s memory are his loving wife Janis Rediker, daughter, Laura (Michael) Miller and Valerie Rediker, sons Benjamin Rediker and John Rediker, sister’s Rosalyn (Wayne) Jenkins, Ruby (Erin) King, Gladys Norris, Marilyn Lawson and stepfather Ernest Griffin. Along with nine grandchildren, three great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Anderson. Wayne’s heart was a tapestry woven with the hands of deep familial love. As a dedicated husband, father, grandpa, and grandfather, he created a sanctuary of warmth and affection that will forever echo through the halls of his family’s memories.
