Harold "Bones" Bowers

Harold Glen “Bones” Bowers, 76, of Coble, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife, Alice, by his side. Born on February 8, 1950, in Woodland, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Raymond and Bessie Louise Bowers. Harold was a hardworking man who could do a little bit of everything. Over the years, he worked as an electrician and was a retired member of IBEW429. He also spent time behind the wheel as a truck driver and owned rental properties. He had a genuine curiosity about the world around him and took a particular interest in herbology, and trees. His love for trees led him to become a dedicated member of the Tree Foundation, an interest he enjoyed sharing with others. Those who knew "Bones", knew he had a personality that filled a room and a way of making ordinary days memorable. When the work was done, Harold believed in enjoying himself. He loved to laugh, visit, tell stories, have a good time, and, most of all, be around people. He loved to party and never needed a special occasion to celebrate. Some of his best memories were made during the simplest times—sitting around with close friends and enjoying the company of the people he loved. He leaves behind not only family, but a lifetime of friendships. There are far too many friends to name individually, but each one holds a special memory of “Bones” and the mark he left on their lives. His friends will remember his laughter, his generous spirit, his stories, and most of all, the good times they shared with him. Harold is survived by his devoted wife, Alice Riley Bowers of Coble; niece, Melanie Yarobrough of Clarksville; brother-in-law, Donnie Riley; sister-in-law, Joyce Riley; one great-niece; two great-nephews; one great-great-niece; and a host of close friends. In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Raymond Bowers; sister, Joyce E. Allen; sister-in-law, Donna Bowers; and brother-in-law, Stanley Riley. Harold lived life in his own way—with hard work when it was time to work and plenty of laughter and celebration when it was time to let loose. He leaves behind a lifetime of stories, friendships, and memories that will continue to be shared for years to come.
