Jean Wagner

The family and friends of Jean Wagner, age 79, gathered to say their goodbyes just before she passed on Thursday, January 26th, 2017 when she passed at 10:07 a.m. Her life was rich in children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and those- so many of those- that she immediately adopted in her heart as family. There was nothing Ms. Wagner loved more than to laugh and make someone laugh except maybe, the color pink. She had a lifelong passion for animals, especially dogs. The occupation from which she retired was as a custom painter. She learned to enjoy acrylic painting at home when she retired. She loved to volunteer and most recently but with great meaning was her volunteer work at General Assembly Academy and Buffalo Valley, Inc. Jean came from meager means even as a child, but that taught her how to convey what became the legacy of her life, that money really doesn't buy happiness. She could be happy and help people see why they should be happy no matter the circumstances. Her surviving children, who's portion is the unmistakable joy she planted in their hearts, are Bill Swiatkowski, Robert Swiatkowski, Donald Swiatkowski, Le Peerman, Gail Wagner and Laurie Wagner Risner. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Wagner and son, Ronnie Swiatkowski. Though her family and friends rejoice that peace to her suffering did finally grant her sweet relief and release to the Heaven she couldn't wait to see, they feel great sorrow as they learn to adjust to life without her. Jean Wagner's love knew no distance, and she stayed close to family and friends whether she saw them daily or only as often as life afforded. She planned much of her memorial service and her very customized details that will be carried out as an honor to her wishes will be held on Saturday, February 4th, 2017 at General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, 161 Baker Road in Hohenwald, TN at 2:00 p.m. There will also be a meal afterward as miss Jean, unmistakably wanted this to be a celebration of her life, complete with what she insisted be... laughter. Any flowers or gifts in her memory for family and friends can be delivered starting at noon that same day.
