Betty Lee Jones Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Betty Lee (Davis) Jones, a life-long resident of the Oak-Grove Community in Lewis County, TN, passed peacefully from this life to heaven on Thursday, July 29, 2022, at the age of eighty-one. Betty was born on August 25, 1940, to William Sydney Davis and Audie Ann (Odom) Davis, in a cabin on the Buffalo River on the William Davis Family Farm at Oak Grove and was raised in the historic family homeplace. In 1959 she married Jerry “Buck” Jones and together they raised their family in their home on the William Davis Family Farm. Betty enjoyed her career as an administrative professional in manufacturing management, hospital administration, banking, and job training administration at Columbia State Community College. She was a wise counselor and mentor to many girls and women throughout her life and is remembered fondly for her kindness, intelligence, and her gifts to understand and hold people up for their growth and accomplishments. She was very involved with her community, and especially with her Oak Grove friends and relatives. Above all, Betty was a child of God. She was a dedicated and well-loved member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She is survived in this life by her daughters, Bridget Davis Jones (Tony Creasy) of Columbia, TN, and Stacy Lynn Sharpe of Hohenwald, TN, granddaughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Sharpe of Hampshire, TN, and her great grandchildren, Kenna Leigh Sharpe, and William Kasen Wade Sharpe. Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Zachary Wade Sharpe. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Funeral and Celebration of Life Services will follow at 4:00 PM in the Sanctuary of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Davis-Oak Grove Cemetery. If you wish to make a donation in lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you do so to the Davis-Oak Grove Cemetery Fund.
