Elizabeth Ann Tarkington, of Lyles, was born May 17, 1927, to the late Carlos and Myrtle Lawson McFarlin and died August 12, 2021, at the age of 94 years. Mrs. Tarkington is survived by daughters Linda Maddox and her husband, Michael and Pam Allen and her husband, Frankie. She is survived by four grandchildren, Josh Winters, Chris Allen, Jenny Smith, and Amy Myatt and five great-children, Sarah Allen, Dillon Allen, Rowan Winters, Olivia Winters, and Katlyn Myatt. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tarkington was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Wilson Tarkington, brothers Raymond McFarlin, Charles McFarlin, Ollie McFarlin, and sisters Elsie Lancaster, Bertie Lee Kellough, and Mildred Sanders. Mrs. Elizabeth and Mr. C.W. owned and operated Tarkington's Store on Hassell's Creek for many years. Graveside services for Mrs. Tarkington will be Sunday, August 15, 2021, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Lambert Cemetery.
