Ernst Luc Morel

March 27, 1962 - February 9, 2022

Ernst (Ernie) Luc Morel was born on March 27th, 1962 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to the late Rossini Luc Morel and Marie Violette Morel. He migrated to the United States very young and immediately started Elementary School, while trying to learn English as a new language. He attended various schools including Francis Lewis High School and Oakwood College. He was also a graduate of Technical School where he majored in Electronics and Computer Science. Ernie worked for Panasonic for 16 years as a Computer Programmer, and for Bazza Restoration where he restored antique lamps. Ernie was very proud to work for the NY Taxi, Limousine and Cab Service for several years. God had blessed Ernie with a love for playing musical instruments and a wonderful Tenor voice for singing. He was a Web Designer and made professional Flyers and T-Shirts. He also taught Bible for the GOCA. Ernie was previously married to the former Rosenie William and to this union was added a son, Richard Morel, who is now an E5 Sergeant in the US Army. On February 3rd, 2003 Ernie met the former Kalita Black and they were married exactly one year later. He immediately assumed fatherhood of her son, Jamal Black, teaching both boys Math, Algebra and Geometry. He also taught them how to drive and was very instrumental in them graduating from High School and moving on to college. Ernie had some health challenges over the years and after a brief illness he passed away in the hospital. Ernie is survived by his Wife Kalita Black-Morel, Sons Richard Morel and Jamal Black. Siblings Mireille Morel-Louis (Jean Moise), Maryse Morel-Petty, Juliette Morel-Cesar (Garry), Frantz Morel (Tishawna). Several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, In-Laws, Out-Laws and Friends. He is preceded by his Parents Rossini Luc Morel and Marie Violette and Brothers Muller Morel (Maribel) and Abel Morel. Ernie, may you rest and sleep in peace until the 1st Resurrection and we claim this in Name of Jesus and by God’s Grace. Amen!
