Robert Barry Anderson
June 15, 1955 - February 27, 2021
Robert Barry Anderson was born to the late Bobby and Elizabeth Nicks Anderson on June 15, 1955. When he passed on February 27, 2021, he was 65 years old. Barry was truly one of a kind. He never met a stranger, could talk to anyone about anything, and if you were ever his friend you were his friend for life. He made many friends in his 65 years and through his different sales jobs. Many good friends were also made at gyms and ballparks all over Tennessee while his children played basketball and softball. His first sports love was football and he was so proud to be an HCHS Bulldog, Class of 1973. He also loved UT football and has mourned its demise. An avid reader, Barry also was a history buff and loved to study World War II. His love of fishing was well known and he loved to be on Duck River. That was one of his happy places and brought him lots of joy. Family was the most important thing in Barry's life. He loved his three children dearly but the three grandchildren held his heart in their hands. Barry sold groceries and insurance all over Middle Tennessee but the last 25 years of his working life were spent at State Farm Insurance in Centerville, Tennessee. His best days were the ones when he felt like he had helped someone with a problem. Barry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debbie Weatherspoon Anderson; his son Ben, daughter-in-law Andrea, and their children Reilly and Eli; daughter Ashley, son-in-law James Litton and their daughter Kylee. He was preceded in death by his son Brad. There are a host of relatives from all sides of both his and Debbie's families who loved Barry and will mourn his loss plus all the friends he loved and cherished. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital, the Friday Friends program in the Hickman County School system, or the High School Fishing Team for Hickman County.
